In a week, we will have been married seven months. It’s hard to believe that it has only been a matter of months since we lived hundreds of miles apart. I only saw Yana every two weeks. I have no idea how I did it! I don’t like being apart from Yana at all now. I love her even more than I did on our wedding day.

I’m sitting in my hotel room now getting myself ready for the wedding. Well, actually, at this moment I’m drinking coffee, but Yana will tell you that it’s an essential part of the day for me. I am so thankful to have finally made it to this day. Yana is truly the love of my life, and I am grateful to God that I have been given the honor of being her husband.
The wedding is in Dayton, Ohio. For several months of our courtship, Dayton has been like my second home. When Yana moved to North Carolina, I felt like I was moving, too. I am very thankful for the wonderful people I’ve met through Yana, and I’m glad to be able to celebrate with them. I’m especially grateful for all of my family and friends who have made the drive all the way over here to be with us. Also, how can I forget Yana’s family who made it from literally the other side of the planet. They took great care of me while I was in Indonesia, and I’m thankful to have them as in-laws.
This is going to be a great day! This is the day that the Lord has made, let us rejoice and be glad!

This evening is my last evening of work in this Memphis hospital. I’ve just eaten of two cakes, received two cards, and even a few gifts. I’ll finish packing this week, and then it’s off to North Carolina.
I hate saying goodbye. Even though I’m one of the worst about losing touch with people, my desire really is to be in people’s lives to stay. This hospital has been very good to me. I hadn’t practiced hospital pharmacy since I was licensed, and I wondered if I could do it. They were willing to train, and I am very grateful for the opportunity and for what they have done for me. I only wish I had gone there sooner than I did.
Still, there’s a new beginning to be had. I’m excited to begin my life together with Yana. I am thankful to finally be able to go to North Carolina to stay.

We saw each other quite a lot this past week despite of the distance between us. It was a real blessing! David flew in to NC last weekend. We were apart for a full day after he flew out on Sunday night. Then he flew in again to NC on Tuesday. We were apart for 2 full days before I flew in to Memphis last night. It was like a dream!
Being apart for about 600 miles is getting harder and harder for us. We’re in God’s waiting room, waiting for His plans to unfold for our future together. We know He is directing our path where He wants us to be after we get married. Please keep us in your prayers.

I am back in Memphis after having spent the last weekend in North Carolina with Yana. It is getting harder and harder the longer we are in a distance courtship and now engagement. The time comes for me to board a plane back to Memphis, and I’m hoping the flight is delayed or even cancelled. I just don’t want to leave.
I will be very grateful when we are finally together. I know Yana feels the same way. I love her so much!

Planning a long distance wedding is definitely a challenge.
After our 3rd weekend traveling to Ohio, we almost got all the ducks in the row. I said travel to Ohio – not just Dayton, because we also traveled to Columbus to meet and interview a couple of wedding vendors.
We’d like to take this opportunity to reiterate our thanks to Rob and Lydia, Joel and Sarah, for opening their houses for us while we were in Dayton. It was great to see you and spend time with you!
